Importance of Magnesium for health with Unicity's Calcium Magnesium Complex

Most People Lack Magnesium But They Don’t Even Know It, Here’s Why It Matters

In a world that is filled with some many products fighting for your attention, it can be difficult to figure out the best way to keep yourself healthy. Regardless, as a result of this, many people are missing essential parts of their diet. However, one really important fact stands out across the board is that many people are missing one important nutrient in their diet. Americans, in particular, are guilty of it. There is evidence that shows over 80% of American adults currently don’t have enough magnesium in their diets. Furthermore, there’s other research that suggests that at most, 25% of Americans actually get enough Magnesium. All of these numbers can be frightening unless you have no real idea what magnesium does for your body. It’s quite important to both you and your nutritionist that you get the proper amount each day. It’s recommended by experts that you get 310 to 320 milligrams (mg) for women and 400 to 420 (mg) for men.

Who’s At Risk of Deficiency?

Magnesium deficiency is quite common, but most folks aren’t aware they have it as the symptoms are quite subtle. The interesting part of magnesium deficiency is that unless you have severely low intakes of magnesium or have one of a few different medical conditions, you probably wouldn’t even notice. If you have dangerously low intakes, alcohol dependency, have Type 2 diabetes, or gastrointestinal diseases or are a little older, then some symptoms may start to pop up sooner then you want them to. The reason for this is the fact that when you look into the subject, you realize that most magnesium lies in the bones and cells of the body, meaning it’s really hard to assess whether someone is truly deficient or not and there’s no single reliable method to find out.

What Are the Symptoms?

The symptoms of magnesium deficiency as stated earlier are subtle, but as your deficiency gets worse, so do the symptoms. Early signs of magnesium deficiency include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and weakness. When you become more deprived, numbness, tingling, muscle contractions and cramps, seizures, personality changes, abnormal heart rhythms, and coronary spasms can occur.
Things get far more dangerous the longer you wait. It can even wind up manifesting as hypocalcemia or hypokalemia (low serum calcium or potassium levels, respectively) because mineral homeostasis is disrupted. So sure, everything is fine now, you don’t have much to worry about, but do you really want to wait to until symptoms show up?

Sources of Magnesium

There’s no need to fear because the problem is solved easily enough. As it happens, there are many foods that can help you replenish your levels. Now it’s not an exact science, but so long as you incorporate more of the foods on the list, you can prevent being deficient in magnesium. In fact, one very reliable and abundant source of magnesium happens to be leafy vegetables. All things considered, here’s a solid list of foods that can easily be incorporated into your diet to be more magnesium-heavy.
  • Almonds
  • Spinach
  • Cashews
  • Peanuts
  • Cereal
  • Soymilk
  • Black Beans
  • Edamame
  • Peanut Butter
  • Bread
  • Avocado
  • Potato
  • Rice
  • Yogurt
  • Breakfast Cereals
  • Oatmeal
  • Kidney Beans
  • Banana
And more. When you’re looking for solid ways to use these foods, just be aware that some actually need to be prepared in order to have the biggest effect. The black beans need to be cooked while you can just scarf a banana. There’s also the prominence of supplements as well, with a disclaimer. You need to be aware that if you are going the supplement route, too much magnesium can cause diarrhea and abdominal cramping.

Final Thoughts

When you picture yourself when you’re older, sometimes we have a skewed vision of what it’ll look like. It may not be as pretty as you might hope if you keep living the way you do now, but you can take steps now to ensure your health in both the present and future. It’s worth handling now, as it’ll be more difficult the longer you wait!

Depression is a common mental disorder. Symptoms include sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, low energy and libido levels and poor concentration.

Between 8-20% of the urban population carry the risk, with the majority comprising women. An increasing number of teenagers are high risk candidates due to family, school, peer pressures and very poor nutrition.

Depression can be overcome by eating Good Mood Food such as:-

Make no Bones about it

Women over 30 must realise the importance of taking a good chelated Calcium formulation that also has Magnesium, Boron, Manganses and Vitamin D.

After the age of 30, more bones deteriorate than it is formed, causing bone density to decline. After menopause, the loss of estrogen causes bone loss to accelerate.

Some people say for the elderly ladies, a small fall will cause the fracture, but I believe its actually the fracture, that causes the fall. I just met a friend in her early 50's and she was in a wheel chair due to a fracture after a fall. She is certainly deficient in calcium and her sturbboness to realise that, will cause her even more stress and inconvenience as she ages ungracefully.

Some people like to calculate by age and weight to see how much calcium they should consume. But its not the quantity but the quality that matters. I remember Gucci said this - Quality is remembered, long after price is forgotten. Don't treat yourself cheaply!.

If you take 1,000mg of a cheap calcium carbonate, your body can only absorb 5% and the rest will cause you painful kidney & bladder stones and hardening of your arteries.

For calcium to work, it needs 2 parts calcium to 1 part magnesium. For calcium to be absorbed into the bone, and slow down the loss of calcium from the bone, you need a chelated formulation including Manganese, Vitamin D and Boron. Sounds complicated, but how our body works certainly is.

If you truly want to feel the difference then go invest in the Calcium Magnesium Complex and you can feel the difference in sleeping soundly, soothing aches and tired muscles but more importantly, you can do a before and after bone density test and see positive results in just 30 days

Other than ladies over 30, if you have kids and want them to grow up tall, well the more calcium you give them, the taller they will grow.

Calcium is one key ingredient to make hormones and enzymes and if men want to truly be men, then you also need to take the Calcium Magnesium Complex at least 3 times weekly or you will always be trying weakly.

So I highly recommend this Calcium Magnesium Complex to

a) Pregnant & Nursing mothers
b) Babies above 6 months
c) Children and Teens up to 19 years
d) Ladies 30 and above
e) Men mid 20s and above

What you spend on your self or your family is never wasted, especially if it helps keep you healthy. So wise up and don't save on yourself, as either you spend on prevention or spend lots more on the treatment and cure.

Invest in the Calcium Magnesium Complex today and see and feel the positive difference!

Some supplements I take daily

Friends ask me why I look good, have lots of energy and have so smooth skin. Well here are the supplements I use - some daily and others weekly. I've included some comments on why I take these supplements too, so you can have an idea.

1. Bio-C - 1 capsule twice daily - 4 forms of Vitamin C - to build collagen and keep skin young. Good for my kids too

2. Perform - 2 capsules twice daily - hormone regulator - to protect my prostate and high energy. My girls take it to regulate their menstrual cycles and to stop menstrual cramps.

3. Glucosamine - 1 capsule once nightly - to protect my knee cartilage that was operated on

4. BMC - 2 capsules one daily - to nourish my bones and cartilage

5. RESP - 2 capsules daily - to nourish my lungs as I smoke. My girls use this for their Asthma.

6. ChloroSpirulina - 1 tablet twice daily - for my vitamin/mineral supplement. My girls use this daily too.

7. Salmon Omega 3 oil - 1 softgel daily - to noursih eyes, skin & brain and as anti-inflamatory. My girls use it to nourish their brains with EPA and DHA.

8. Superchlorophyll - once daily - to cleanse and cool down body and as alkaline balance. My girls drink this daily too to help with constipation.

9. BiosLife - 1 sachet daily - to maintain healthy cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels and also keeps stomach trim, so I can eat, eat and eat.

10. Enjuvenate - 1-2 times weekly - anti-aging and to sleep better and repair / regenerate organs.

11. Calcium Magnesium Complex - 1-2 times weekly - to relax muscles, sleep better, and maintain strong bones. My kids use this to grow tall.

How much does it cost me to stay healthy?. About RM380 monthly or what a smoker, a drinker or a gambler spends monthly.

Its a good investment in my own body and it's certainly cheaper to prevent a disaster, rather than treat a disease, don't you think?

No Milk today again?

Yesterday, I went to visit a friend who had just delivered her second son 4 days earlier.

As always, my gifts will be a Chlorospirulina and a Salmon Omega 3 oil. These are really excellent products for the mum to consume, to boost milk production and also feed the essential nutrients like EPA, DHA, vitamins, minerals and protein to her baby, through her milk. And also replenish the mum's nutrients so she does not experience post natal depression.

I was sad to learn that 4 days after delivery, she is still waiting for her milk to start flowing. So I had to ask, what about during your first son - did you have milk before his delivery or did the milk start when you started using these 2 products, that I gave her previously too?.

I was not suprised by the expected answer, but surprised that even after seeing what Chlorospirulina and Salmon Omega 3 did for her first birth, she was still taking chances and saving on these 2 supplements, and depriving her new second born, with her colostrum and antibodies from her breast milk.

There are 3 products every pregnant and lactating mother should consume, to ensure her baby gets the best raw ingredients, and get a heard start in life.

Calcium Magnesium Complex - to build a strong skeletal system and also to replenish the calcium in the mother and sooth the back and calf aches.
Chlorospirulina - the most complete food from the sea - to build strong healthy organs and
Salmon Omega 3 oil - to build the brain, eyes and good skin and also replenish the DHA and prevent post natal depression.

If a pregnant mother gets these 3 essential supplements, not only will she have an easy pregnancy, birth and quick recovery, but also wont go through the pregnancy cravings, brought about by the lack of minerals in the body.

What is cheap is seldom good and what is good is never cheap. So don't cheapen yourself and stinge on your health and that of your kids. For quality is remembered, long after price is forgotten.
