Over the last 8 years, so many people have approached me over various so called business opportunities.
Even today, I chatted with someone who had just joined a brand new company X - that has 2 lawsuits pending on the ownership of the sole product they are selling. If they lose the ownership of this sole product, the whole network crumbles and all the effort is wasted.
Here's my advice on the 12 key points on how to select the right company to join , to anyone looking to start a home based business - especially a MLM business.
1. Find an established 10 year old company - that has withstood a recession and come back even stronger. 70% of new startups never last over 3 years, and 95% close within 6 years. The numbers never lie.
2. Find a company selling not 1 product - but a range of fast moving unique consumable products that everyone in the family can use and have to replenish every month. We have seen companies just dealing with Noni - and once it becomes popular, thousands of cheap imitations come out and the original company collapses. Proven time and time again.
3. Find products that have real customers - meaning people will buy the products whether they can earn money or not. It is not MLM but a pyramid, if only members buy and members cannot find customers who will pay retail prices. I sell products through Ebay and find customers easily, who pay me retail prices.
4. After 50 years of MLM, the top MLM companies in the world are all American Companies. Simply put - American made products have the best quality in every market. Not the products made or packed in Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Germany or Australia.
5. Find a company that has its own R & D and manufacturing, so you always have the latest and newest products. and price controlled through owning your own products. Forget the trading companies that take 10 year licensed products to sell in limited markets. You can never have a global business with franchised products.
6. Check the owners of the company and the company history through a simple google search of comapany name/owners name followed by scam, fraud & legal. If the owners have a bad reputation, stay clear
7. Look for products in a sunrise industry - e.g. wellness. Target those that are clinically proven, patented and are already listed in Doctor's Journals. Unproven stories does not count. If the product is really so good, then have it clinically proven!.
8. No need to look for new start-ups. If the company is really good, there will always be lots of opportunity, even after 10 years!. But if the company has been around for 30 years and already in 30 countries, then it's too late for you!
9. Companies with binary plans are banned in many countries including Malaysia. So why choose them when there are so many other companies with approved payment plans.
10. Find passion in your products, use them daily and the results will show 3, 5, 10 and even 20 years from today. I plan to look younger and younger each day. Wanna bet?
11. Find a sponsor or sponsorship line who have at least 5 years experience in the same company. That way, you know you have experienced and loyal coaches.
12. Find a company with an international pay plan. Meaning you can sponsor internationally and earn immediately.
For the average folks putting in part time effort, it takes 3-6 years to build a reputation and to learn the skills to build a sustainable network. MLM is not a vegetable business - you dont expect a good harvest monthly, unless you are in the direct selling business. MLM is a tree planting business - we do the work 3-6 years, and then when the work is done, we can enjoy the fruits monthly for many, many years.
I may be biased, but over the last 8 years, I've built a buisness with Unicity - The Make Life Better company from USA and today have 5 clinically proven products that everyone is looking for.
Today, my global Bioslife Franchise business is booming and many people like the simple personal franchise business that Bioslife offers.
